Before my procedure,I was nervous and anxious, but Dr Fee and
Dr Malaika gave me so much confidence before hand. Explain their experience to me, which impressed and immediately put me at ease.

I was in on the 4th due to pain in the mouth and jaw. I spent 178 euro for my appointment and prescription. Dentist stated I had an ulcer due to a premolar growing on my upper jaw but couldn’t explain the swelling on my neck and pain when swallowing. She seemed unsure herself and did an xray. She stated X-rays were clear which is great and prescribed antibiotics due to the swelling and gave me antibiotics ulcer cream. As she seems uncertain and also confused herself, I asked her should I see a doctor and she said yes if I don’t improve. This left me feeling confused and uncertain what was actually wrong.

I then started antibiotics and two days later wasn’t improving. I went to an emergency doctor and he stated I had a joint issue in my mouth with inflammation and that was causing pain and swelling. No ulcer was present at all and my teeth weren’t an issue. He also gave me stronger antibiotics and stated I might need to go to a specialist if it doesn’t improve.

Overall I am very upset that the dentist didn't provide me with guidance and recommend I see a doctor as she couldn’t see it was a dental issue as no ulcer was present and I was struggling to open my jaw fully without pain. I feel as though the antibiotics were prescribed without a full work up.
I am aware she couldn’t diagnose me with an injury but I feel like a lack of guidance was provided. I don’t usually complain but I do struggle with anxiety and have been in pain the last few days struggling. I am also in the healthcare sector myself.
